Amy O'Neill obtained her Bachelor of Music (Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario and has over twelve years of teaching experience. She has studied privately with Annelie Metrakos (Orchestra London) and Margaret Voorhaar (Orchestra London), and participates frequently in masterclasses given by such noted flutists as Peter Lloyd, Emmanuel Pahud, Louis Moyse, Per Øien, Fiona Wilkinson, Kathleen Rudolph, and Anne Thompson as well as attending workshops such as the Boxwood Flute Festival. She performs regularly in pit orchestras and as part of various small ensembles.
Ms. O'Neill teaches flute, theory and supplemental piano lessons and often appears as a clinician with schools and community music groups. Her goal is to create in each student a love of music which stays with him/her for life. Lessons are taught in an informal, exciting atmosphere, with emphasis on the enjoyment of learning. Students from beginner to University Prep level are accepted.
